Behind BDM4U are husband-and-wife team Andrew and Lucy Barker, two passionate business owners who share a simple belief: every business deserves the opportunity to grow without the financial burden or long-term commitment of employing an in-house sales team.

Andrew brings decades of hands-on business and commercial experience to BDM4U, having built and managed businesses across several sectors, particularly transport, logistics and customer-focused services.
His entrepreneurial journey includes establishing his own logistics business in 2005, growing the operation from a single vehicle into a fleet of 25 vans. This experience gave Andrew a first-hand understanding of the challenges business owners face, from finding new customers and managing operations to building lasting commercial relationships.
Having experienced the highs and challenges of running his own businesses, Andrew understands that successful business development is about far more than simply making sales calls. It's about identifying genuine opportunities, understanding customers' needs and building relationships that deliver long-term value.
His approach has always been straightforward: understand the business, identify the opportunity, make the introduction and build the relationship.
As Managing Director, Andrew leads BDM4U's commercial strategy, client relationships and business development team, remaining actively involved in helping clients achieve their growth ambitions.

Lucy is an integral part of BDM4U's success, bringing organisation, creativity and a strong people-focused approach to the company.
Working alongside Andrew, Lucy plays a central role in the company's marketing, business operations, brand development and continued growth.
With a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards, Lucy helps ensure that both clients and team members receive the communication, support and attention they deserve.
Her ability to combine creativity with practical business thinking has been instrumental in developing the BDM4U brand and supporting the company's expansion.
Lucy also believes that a successful business starts with its people. Creating a positive, supportive working environment and maintaining strong relationships with clients and colleagues remain central to her approach.
Together with Andrew, Lucy continues to help shape the future of BDM4U, ensuring that as the business grows, its personal approach and commitment to customer service remain at the heart of everything it does.
Our story
Building BDM4U Together
What started as a shared vision in 2024 has developed into a growing business development company, with a dedicated team of 10 Business Development Managers working with businesses throughout the UK.
Andrew and Lucy remain actively involved in the day-to-day running of BDM4U, leading the company's operations and maintaining close relationships with their clients and team.
Their business model is deliberately different. Rather than tying clients into lengthy contracts or expensive recruitment commitments, BDM4U offers a flexible, pay-as-you-go business development service designed around each client's individual needs.
Their team works as an extension of the businesses they represent, generating opportunities, developing relationships and helping clients reach new markets.
For Andrew and Lucy, building BDM4U has never been simply about growing the number of clients. It's about building a business with a reputation for honesty, transparency, reliability and delivering genuine value.
